At the CES LEAP conference, we are excited to welcome new teachers and delve into the crucial topic of teacher leadership. Our presentation aims to underscore the pivotal role of teacher leadership in driving educational innovation and continuous improvement. Through exploring the practices employed by our selected schools and change agents in education, attendees will gain insights into innovative teaching methods, curriculum design, and community engagement strategies. Mini video blurbs from a policy fellow and change agent on their personal/professional growth through involvement in Teach Plus programs and information platforms (website, social media, and monthly newsletters). We believe that teacher leadership empowers educators to take ownership of their professional development and contribute significantly to school success, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Moreover, we emphasize the importance of teachers being informed and involved in education policy decisions. Education policy directly impacts students, communities, and daily classroom duties, making it essential for teachers to advocate for policies that support effective teaching practices and student success. By encouraging new teachers to become active participants in professional learning communities and leadership opportunities, we aim to foster a community of informed and engaged educators committed to driving positive change in education.
